Privacy

Vurthox PDF is designed to work with your documents directly on your devices. This policy clearly explains what happens to your information when you use the application, Vurthox.com and our contact channels.

Last updated: September 24, 2026

1. Controller and scope

VURTHOX SpA, Chile, is the controller for the personal data processing it carries out directly and describes in this policy.

This policy applies to Vurthox PDF, the Vurthox.com website and communications between a person and VURTHOX. Services provided by Apple, such as App Store, TestFlight and iCloud, carry out their own processing under their policies and terms.

For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@vurthox.com. For technical assistance, use support@vurthox.com.

2. Privacy and local processing

Vurthox PDF is designed with local processing as a priority. Supported document creation, viewing, editing, conversion, scanning, optical character recognition (OCR), annotation and processing operations are performed directly on the device.

VURTHOX does not operate servers intended to receive or process documents used in Vurthox PDF. Documents do not need to be sent to VURTHOX servers for those local operations.

VURTHOX does not use document content for advertising, profiling, commercial analytics or training artificial intelligence models.

3. Your documents and content

Documents, images, annotations, signatures and other content you create, import or edit with Vurthox PDF remain under your control. Using the application does not transfer ownership rights over that content to VURTHOX SpA.

You are responsible for having the necessary permissions to use the content and for keeping any backups you consider appropriate.

4. iCloud synchronization

Synchronization through iCloud Drive is optional and initially disabled. If you choose to enable it, Vurthox PDF uses the iCloud infrastructure associated with your Apple Account.

Synchronization may include documents, editable projects, images, covers and data needed to maintain your library structure. Once enabled, later changes may be synchronized automatically.

Vurthox PDF does not use a VURTHOX account system for this synchronization. The audited code does not contain a remote mechanism through which VURTHOX can inspect documents stored by the user in iCloud.

Storage and processing performed by iCloud are subject to Apple's policies, terms, settings and service availability.

5. Disabling iCloud and deleting data

Deleting Vurthox PDF may remove information stored exclusively on the device, depending on how the operating system works. However, a copy previously synchronized with iCloud may remain after the application is uninstalled.

Disabling iCloud in Vurthox PDF stops new synchronizations but does not necessarily delete existing copies. Data stored in iCloud must be viewed, managed or deleted using the corresponding tools provided by Apple.

6. Camera, photos and files

The camera is used when you choose to scan a document. To add photos or images, Vurthox PDF uses the selection mechanisms provided by iOS so that you choose specific items.

To open, import, save or export files, the application uses file pickers and access mechanisms provided by the operating system. These functions do not mean that VURTHOX gains general access to your photo library or all files on your device.

7. Face ID and biometric authentication

Biometric authentication is managed by the operating system. Vurthox PDF receives only the authentication result, such as whether it was accepted or rejected. VURTHOX does not receive or store your face template, fingerprint or other biometric information used by the device.

8. Protected folders and PDF protection

Protected folders currently provide access control inside Vurthox PDF through a password or biometric authentication. This feature should not be understood as encryption of every file contained in the folder.

The Protect PDF feature is different: it applies the protection selected by the user to the PDF file itself.

9. Apple Watch

You may explicitly choose to send a PDF to a paired Apple Watch. The transfer uses Apple technologies to communicate between linked devices, and VURTHOX does not receive a copy of the document.

Some Watch functions may use motion information to control features between linked devices. This use is part of the interaction you initiate between your devices.

10. Sharing, exporting and printing

Sharing, exporting or printing requires an action from you. Depending on your choice, content may be delivered to an application, service, file provider, device or printer selected by you.

Once content is delivered to a third party chosen by you, any later processing is subject to that third party's terms and policies.

11. Hyperlinks

When you choose to open a hyperlink contained in a document, Safari or another application may communicate with the destination website. That website may receive standard technical information from a web connection, such as your IP address, browser or device type, and the date and time of the request.

12. Clipboard

When you use Copy, the selected content is placed on the system clipboard. Its availability to other applications and devices is subject to the operation and privacy controls of iOS and other linked Apple systems.

13. Advertising, tracking and analytics

The current audited version of Vurthox PDF does not integrate advertising networks, advertising tracking, third-party analytics SDKs, profiling, Firebase Analytics, IDFA or VURTHOX-operated remote telemetry systems.

VURTHOX does not sell documents or use their content for advertising.

14. Artificial intelligence

Vurthox PDF does not send documents to remote artificial intelligence services to perform the local operations currently available. VURTHOX also does not use user documents to train artificial intelligence models.

If a future feature requires remote processing or an external artificial intelligence service, this policy will need to be updated, and users will be informed when appropriate before using that feature.

15. Apple diagnostics

Vurthox PDF does not currently integrate its own crash-reporting or remote telemetry service. Apple may, however, process or provide certain diagnostics, crash reports and metrics related to App Store or TestFlight depending on its services, device settings and the user's privacy choices.

Apple's processing is governed by its own policies and controls.

16. Purchases and subscriptions

Vurthox PDF offers optional subscriptions through the App Store. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are processed by Apple through StoreKit and App Store services.

VURTHOX SpA does not receive full bank-card details or other complete payment-method information used by the user.

The application may use StoreKit to obtain the information needed to display available products, determine purchase and subscription status and enable the corresponding features. Subscription and payment management is performed through services provided by Apple.

17. When you contact VURTHOX

If you voluntarily contact VURTHOX, we may receive your email address, your name if you provide it, the message content and any files or screenshots you choose to attach. We use this information to respond, investigate the reported issue and maintain support continuity.

We recommend that you do not send confidential documents to support. If sharing an example is necessary, review it and remove or anonymize information that is not needed before sending it.

18. Technical data from Vurthox.com

Vurthox.com is separate from Vurthox PDF. The technology infrastructure used to host, distribute and protect the website may process technical data needed to establish and protect the connection, such as IP address, browser or device, date, time and requested resources.

This website technical data is not the documents you process locally using Vurthox PDF.

19. How we use information we receive

  • Respond to privacy requests, questions and support communications.
  • Operate, distribute, maintain and protect Vurthox.com and the applications.
  • Diagnose issues that the user chooses to report.
  • Prevent abuse, security incidents and unlawful use.
  • Comply with legal obligations and exercise or defend legal rights.

20. Retention

Information sent to VURTHOX: privacy or support communications and their attachments are kept for the time reasonably necessary to respond, maintain a record of the request, protect the service and comply with legal obligations.

Local documents: remain under the user's control on the device and are managed through Vurthox PDF and operating-system tools. Deleting the application may remove exclusively local data, but it should not be used as the only method for managing copies that exist elsewhere.

Documents in iCloud: retention depends on the Apple Account, settings and Apple tools. Disabling synchronization or uninstalling Vurthox PDF does not necessarily delete a previously synchronized copy.

Vurthox.com technical data: infrastructure providers may retain logs for periods necessary for operation, security and compliance, according to their own practices.

21. Security

VURTHOX adopts reasonable security measures appropriate to the nature of its products and the information it processes. Vurthox PDF's local architecture reduces the need to transmit documents for processing.

No device, software, transmission or storage system can guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for protecting access to your devices, Apple Account, passwords and backups.

22. Children

Vurthox PDF is not designed to deliberately collect personal data from children. If a minor contacts VURTHOX, we will process the information only to handle the communication and will take the measures required by applicable law and the circumstances.

If you believe a child sent us personal information without the required authorization, email privacy@vurthox.com.

23. Your rights

You may exercise the rights available to you under applicable Chilean law, including, where applicable, rights to information or access, rectification, erasure or cancellation, blocking and objection to the processing of personal data.

To submit a request, email privacy@vurthox.com and provide the information needed to understand the request and reasonably verify your identity. We will not ask for more information than is necessary to handle it.

If the request relates exclusively to information stored and managed by Apple or iCloud, you may need to use Apple's tools and channels. If it relates to documents that exist only on your device, VURTHOX does not hold a remote copy that it can delete or provide to you.

24. Providers, transfers and applicable law

Certain technology providers used for web infrastructure, application distribution, App Store, TestFlight or iCloud may process information from other countries. Their processing is also subject to their own policies, terms and applicable law.

VURTHOX SpA is established in Chile and complies with applicable Chilean personal-data law. As of the date of this policy, Law No. 19,628 remains in force under its current regime. Amendments introduced by Law No. 21,719 will enter into force on December 1, 2026; VURTHOX will adapt this policy and its practices to the new regime when applicable.

25. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when applications, technologies, providers, legal requirements or processing practices change. The current version will be published on this page and will show its latest update date. Where appropriate, we will also communicate changes through additional means within the application or service.
